D-Link DIR-655 Headaches

Anyone have this Router?
I've managed to get nothing, but headaches.
I've managed to get the first one replaced and even switched to a Netgear W**824b and it kept on dropping the connection every 10 secs.
I did a ping trace to google and that's how I got my response.
I went back to the DIR-655.
This time being very meticulous of my settings.
I did notice that every time I used DHCP and forwarded ports I would get completely disconnected from the internet. IOW the router would ping out.
I've managed how to use disable the UPnP on the router and enabled it on the software.
I don't know if this would limit the software's connectivity and communication.
So here are my settings
WIRELESS NETWORK SETTINGS:
802.11: Mixed
Enable Auto Channel Scan : Unchecked
Wireless Channel: 2.412 GHZ-CH1
Transmission Rate: Best
Channel Width: 20Mhz
Security Mode : None

ADVANCED NETWORK:
Enable UPnP: Checked
WAN Port Speed: Auto
Multicast Streams : Unchecked

WI-FI Protected Setup:
Enable: Unchecked

ADVANCED WIRELESS SETTINGS:
Beacon Period: 80
WLAN PARTITION: Unchecked
WMM Enable: Unchecked
Short GI: Unchecked

Anything else I can do to not get dropped?

Try the tests that you described while connected to the router WIRED

Do a continuous ping to the router IP address
Also do a continuous ping to the ISP gateway in a separate window
Determine where it stops responding.

If your tests have been while connected wireless
Try changing channels

I went ahead and asked D-Link to send me a router from their warehouse. I received the new one and it has been working great.
out of 24985 only 88 packets were dropped. This is while downloading Torrents.
What do you guys think?
