Great work!
These drivers are faster than the 94.20. Bioshock is running really nice now.
Even 3Dmark 05 is showing improvement.

Thanks again every one for solving the BSOD problem.

can't download this driver now, there's some error when attempting downloading...

Don't know what happened, but it's fixed now, for some reason, the download link got changed. I checked the rest of the drivers, and none of those were changed or affected, so this one was the only affected link. Fixed now.

thanks a lot.

i have to tell you, that this driver is great. i installed your tweaked version of it and have to say, that it runs much better than the laptopvideotogo version of the same driver. i tried it with the call of duty 4 demo. the laptopvideotogo one used to have ok fps according to fraps, but there was a lot of stuttering, which didn't appear as fps drops. i thought, that my setting were simply to high or it was the 256 mb vram, but after i tried your driver i saw fps getting somewhere between 30-130 all the time, but NEVER going lower than 30. my settings are 1280x800, 2xAA, no AF, all max. to greatly improve framerate i sometimes turn shadows off, at least in the demo i couldn't tell any visual difference (it's night). i have to check some other games, hope the good performance will stay there as well.

great work, keep it up!!!

edit: enemy territory: quake wars runs better now, too. the game used to have sudden fps drops in certain situation, now they are gone. as i play this game a lot, this improvement is really great for me. thanks once again!

btw, i have a question about your drivers:
after install i go to controll panel/software,
then i can see, that the nvidia drivers are
installed (as usual), but there's also another
file with the name "NBF MobileForce XP 169.04
M4 SETUP FILES ONLY".
what is it? can i uninstall it or is it necessary
somehow?
Thread Starter
It's exactly what it says they are. The setup files for the drivers. Uninstalling them DOESN'T remove the actual NVIDIA driver, but rather the installer. It's safe to delete unless you plan on reinstalling the driver.

Thanks for the comments, every success story there is we like to hear. MobileForce has been running for 2 years straight now, and aside from my own mini-disappearances in between, we're now actually one of the longest running TWEAKED drivers out there, let alone the original author still doing it (the original XTreme-G authors, Daishi and JRd1st are no longer involved with creating XG drivers).

I do have to say, that while things get tough once and a while (answering the same questions 1000s of times, arguing with people who apparently know our drivers and what we do better than WE do among other things...) those kinds of comments make it worthwhile. It keeps us aware that there are people out there that appreciate our work.

We lost a significant fanbase moving away from Tweaks R Us/TweakForce (it doesn't help the confusion that they've continued with their own mobile drivers, but I won't stop them on that, they have every right to, it's the internet) but it seems we're starting to get a new fanbase up and running here on NotebookForums, and I'm hoping that with the help of this very large community (MUCH larger than Tweaks R Us ever was and bigger than TweakForce probably ever will be) we can grow larger and larger, bigger than we ever were. I just hope things continue in a positive direction!

yeah, what you're doing is really useful for some people buying an expensive gaming notebook, but being unable to play many games due to the lacking driver support by the manufacturers. some time ago i even wrote an email to dell asking them, why they didn't update the drivers for more than 1,5 years, but their answer was, that the users currently experience no problems with these drivers so they don't see any reason to update them. further nvidia doesn't support the cards anymore and specialize in vista drivers now. strange answer and the only bad experience i had with dell support so far.
i also checked the nvidia page, but they refuse to take any responsibility for the mobile drivers and tell the users to contact the notebook manufacturer.

so i tried different inofficial drivers some time ago, but didn't really know what to look for while testing. i tried 3dmark06, and as the stock drivers gave me the best results i continued to use them. it took some time until i realized, that this benchmark doesn't necessarily has anything to do with actual game performance. and finally i found out, that the stuttering appearing in many newer games was not a result of powerless hardware, but simply a driver issue.

it would be great, if you could persuade the people running nbf to put up a noticeable link on the nbf start page leading to your drivers section (or at least a clear path (something like: notebookforums.com-->notebook discussions-->driver section), as it is a bit hard to find, if you don't already know about it's existence. this could help to let your users base grow even bigger.

wish you the best for your future work!

Oh I see how it is Tony... I spent a whole bunch of time benchmarking and giving conclusions about the Vista version of these drivers, and get no response/feedback... I see it now -- I'm EXPECTED to. :::sigh:::

J/K man. Yes, these drivers rock. Keep it up guys.

(PS -- Annoyingly, it seems they took me off the beta testers group over at Tweakforce, and I have no idea why... Hell I've donated to them a few times (quite a bit), been around a couple years, and it seems like I don't matter... Not sure what the deal is... Is it because I am here too??? Kinda pisses me off... )

Probably is Shnike. I've said it before and I'll say it again, that site has changed, and it's not for the better... They prevented my from sending any kind of PM at all, and I've gotten several over there asking me things, but I can't answer them.

And your feedback is certainly appreciated Shnike. Don't ever assume it's not.

These drivers rock as many others have already said. Crysis runs much better now compared to the 92.91 and 97.92 drivers. My 3dmark scores went down, but who cares, I didn't buy my laptop to play 3dmark.

It's amazing how many people think otherwise...

Glad you see the light! This is the very reason I stopped using 3DMarks in my testing/benchmarking LONG ago. I think the "best 3DMarkXX" scores in my siggie from my XPS Gen 2 are from like the 8x.xx series, LOL!
Whats 3DMark?

Yeah, that software is definitely showing its age... if your games run better, then who the heck cares if you lost 25 points in 3DMark??

Weird lighting in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 with 169.04 M4's, including no HDR when it is enabled in the options. First chapter plays like it is night time.

Sager 5760
Geforce Go 7900 GTX (575/700)

Drivers installed properly.

Hm, I have absolutely no problem with HL2:E2 on my laptop. I would try downloading and installing the latest DirectX binaries. Both DX10 AND DX9 if you have Vista, and just DX9 if you have XP.
These work great on my laptop. On slightly older games such as BF2, gameplay was unchanged. But Bioshock runs much better. Though my FPS were fine before, everything is 10x smoother. Fixed a problem i didn't know i had. Thanks Mobile Force!

EDIT: For the record, i upgraded from the 94.20 Mobile Force Drivers

The download link is so ..DEAD!! can you guys reup it??

Hmm, very strange. I'll try downloading and reinstalling the latest DX9 and see if it changes anything. I'd also like to mention that I've used 16x.xx drivers before and had HDR in EP2, but the performance wasn't there so I reverted.

I think it happened again Tony.
