I have a Sony PCG-K17 and I recently reformat and install Windows XP Home Edition. Everything installed fine except for the memory stick driver. It freezes when I tried to install that driver, so i decided to go to safe mode and install it there. After successfully installed the driver in safe mode, the computer freezes whenever it start up in the Windows XP screen, and the light for the memory stick slot turn on. I am guessing it tried to accessing something from that slot so i took a blank memory stick and put in the slot and the computer starts to run again. Each time I took out the memory stick it freezes and when i put it back into the slot it runs again. This is very frustrating since I dont want to leave the memory stick in that slot forever. I tried to uninstall the memory stick driver but the problem still there. Please help since i can't find anything online that close to my problem. thank you.
