Installed new ram, now macbook is Slower!

Hello...
I am the owner of a 2nd gen macbook and before the release of leopard I decided to upgrade my ram. I orig have stock 1gb from apple and I know their ram is way overpriced so I go on newegg and buy 2gb corsair memory. Came two days later installed it but something funny happened... my comp is slower now! With the apple ram 1gb I used to be able to go from a cold start to being up and running online in about 30 seconds... Now with the 2gb of ram it takes 50 seconds to a full minute... Not sure what's causing this delay? And it def isn't because of leopard because I noticed this change on tiger before leopard was installed... when I click on about comp it recognizes that 2gb of ram is installed...

Is there something I need to do... or that I did wrong perhaps?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is the ram the right speed? You need PC 5300 or faster.

Also, see if you can find a boot disk with memtest on it and let that run for a while and see if the ram is good to begin with.

I think that the Ubuntu LIveCD has it on it. So you would download that and then use DiskUtility to burn the ISO
