I figured since the old tread was closed do to a fire we would start another one with info on the 8800GT/GTS/9800 Series cards.

This is not an argument thread, this is information only. So please post links, etc regarding the new cards & their performance.

Excellent thread

EXCELLENT thread SOL...NO more bashing others likes, just lets get oout information AS SOON as we know about it, and praise each other for the new cards we end up getting...Not to many desktop people on this board...So I apologize to GB and Donket for my harsh words.

Reading over that comparison. The GT is a real d ecent card, just wish they would have offered a 768mb version, then i'da jumped on that board in a heartbeat .
Yeah IMO I think some of the 1gb models on the higher up end will in reality be GT's with more video ram. I think it's the 256 mem bus and 512 memory that is really bottlenecking the card more than anything.

I'm sure Nvidia has more up their sleeve though and the 9 series will whip absolutely everything off the board

Also, apology accepted, I'm sorry for furthering the argument it's just we all get hot headed when it comes to technology

Glad everyone likes it. Hopefully this thread will better educate anyone interested in purchasing a video card.

On another note, GDDR5 samples have been sent out to customers...Hmmm...9800 Series RAM?

I can't believe I've read everyone of the articles/links in the first post(all purple). Maybe I'm a little to jazzed over the G92 launch.

Your jazzed, i'm rolling quad core, minus mobo (on truck for delivery) and a 7800GTX.....I realllly want a top end card past the Ultra....If that means GTS V2 then so be it lol, I just want something better...
I remember when you thought the 7950GX2 was the greatest card in the world and couldn't believe paying for a 8800 GTS.

This thread is to Discuss 8800 & 9800 series cards, period. This is EXACTLY how the last thread started going south. Lets remain focused on the cards at hand not bringing up who thought this or that was a waste, etc.
