The game didn't come out until November 6th. So how did you play it if your console blew up before October 24th? The demo didn't and beta were out but do not have the full graphics optimization as the full version.

I played the MP Beta on my 360, I played the full version on my girlfriends co-worker boyfriends elite that lives in the apartment next to us. His name is Damien and lives on the thing. I played the ps3 version on a co-worker by the name of William, he also has the elite and a 60 some inch 1080p samsung tv that he'll argue with about all day.

You're pushing someone that has been in my book a valued contributer to the desktop section, I know you are a diehard ps3 supporter and thats fine, but when you go off spouting off that I'm lying when you have no idea what my life is about or what I do outside of this forum, it makes you look bad. I didn't say you were lying. i asked a question. When the dates don't add up and you claim to have played all three versions, what am i supposed to think? I can sit down and play each version right now on my consoles, being 1-2 feet away from my 1080p 37 inch monitor, switch back and forth between my HDMI input from PS3-360 to PC and can CLEARLY see a difference in all three. And you're gonna sit there and tell me that you played the beta before your 360 blew, and the full version on your girlfriend's best friend's sister, uncles, dog's elite, and played COD4 at some dudes house and played the PC version god knows where, and tell me that im wrong????? and then you conveniently say you've played the full version on some other dudes elite after i specifically asked you if you played it on your own? what am i supposed to think?? you may be telling the truth but come out with the truth before it looks bad. you've only played the beta on your own 360.

GBQ what are the TV's that the systems are hooked to, because that is going to make huge difference depending on the type and quality of the sets.

SIt back and relax man, I CURRENTLY OWN both COD4's RIGHT NOW, and can say with certainty, graphics and gameplay are negligible between the 2 systems, but this isnt about which version of the game is better, its which system.... and as this is the first time in my experience where in game gameplay/grfx/sound are well enough balanced then the arguement for console can soley rest on what left.....voice, friends, (live), load times, controller battery etc 360 wins. And sorry Duke your wrong, dev's had kits much longer than the unit was released, if PS3 was the superior/preferred platform you would have seen it become the primary platform already for titles like Madden, its not going to happen. See if ps3 is Maddens primary platform next year.



The sad thing, is none of you fanboi's have pointed out ANY flaw that has any significance aside from RROD, and that stone can only be thrown so far. If you were anything but near sighted fanboi's you might have mentioned ANY of the defects in the 360 tha "I" pointed out, but you didnt cuz you just flaming noobs.

If you really wanted to bash the 360, actually buy one, learn the differences, if you had....you might in the previous 4 pages mentioned this.... 360 is louder..... theres another 360 disadvantage you DIDNT come up with.

In the end it doesnt matter all that much cuz when it boils down to it, I think BOTH screwed up, 360 has stronger grfx hardware than ps3 but even the 360 only has 10mb eDram frame buffer which means it cant double buffer 1080p. Do the math.

BTW, my 360 Elite is not louder than my PS3.

It's very hard to compare current console vs PC gaming ... 1080p on a 71" display looks darn good from 10 ft. 1920x1200 on a 24-27" PC monitor looks great too. Do you like to use a mouse and kb, or a controller? Seems a lot like personal preference for lots of games. I played Bioshock on the PC ... now going to play it on the 360. Will that qualify me as an expert to say which is best??????

Arch I did bring up the fact that I had a 360 and it went boom I also pointed out that my PS3 is not loud were as my 360 was. Read what people are posting.

And for the go out side crack you took at me, I work outside all the time I get paid to train people how to defend installations, I set up contracts with translators and I spend weeks living in the field with my teams. SO why don't you think before opening your mouth and letting crap fall out.

And my point was not that Madden is not better on 360 because clearly it is, my point was if you want to play football go F**King play football.

shazza, i respect your opinion but your are 100% wrong with the noise. the Elite is so much louder than the PS3 is sickens me. It is very easy for me to tell because I have both systems sitting next to each other, and i sit very close to both them of them with my monitor on my desk.

Duke you're fighting a losing battle trying to convince this forum the ps3 is better. We have opinions and based on most of them here, I'd say you and darq are the only diehard ps3 supporters.

Plus shazza said she has both and the elite isnt any louder than the ps3, so why is she wrong? She has both, right next to each other. Unless she has the 360 in the bedroom and the ps3 in the living room.

Darq, I am a software engineer in the game industry, just finished a stint with one of the largest companies in the biz! Maybe you should taste some of the humble pie you are trying to dish out.

As for the noise issue, Shaz may have one of the newer dvd drives by BenQ that by many accounts is significantly quieter than the samsung or LG drives. Ive never owned the BenQ personally, my Elite has an LG, it is much louder than my PS3, but only noticeable when there isnt sound coming out of teh speakers for the most part neway.

As far as winning and losing goes, my opinion has been clearly stated- I used lots of facts to back it up, I even came up w/ a better fact supported counter argument than any of the PS3 supporters here. While my opinion can be disagreed with, facts still stand! In the end, its all about the games.
Last gen, Xbox was clearly the more powerful hardware! Yet I found my Xbox collecting dust cuz all the games I wanted to play happened to be on PS2.

I think this argument will still hold, the Cell has more raw cpu power, 360 has better grfx power, PSN is free, LIVE is better than PSN, and a host of other arguments...... In the end it comes down to games, right now 360 has MUCH MUCH more and better games than PS3, In the next year we will see PS3 close the gap for sure with some exclusive titles and better 2ndary platform ports, but in the end only a small few of uber gamers will buy a console for just 1 game (I did, Tekken DR) This leaves 360 with a strong lead, and in the end we may see a repeat of last generation were the system that had the best looking game wasnt the most popular.

As far as PC is concerned, we all know its an uber expensive 3-6 month upgrade cycle to stay current.
And even if money was no object, there isnt a PC to be built right now that Crysis cant bring to its knee's with maxed out settings.... Lets leave CPU vs console in its own thread

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm trying to make people understand the differnce between fact and opinion. Like for example:

the 360 failure rates > PS3 failure rates
the 360 is much louder than the PS3

Shazza is mistaken about the noise level. It is very very obvious and the video and hands on review proves this. It cannot be denied. Maybe if people play in a big room, where the console is hidden tightly in a corner or entertainment chest it isn't as obvious. But if you play right next to it is.

I noticed you didn't say anything about the fans. Are you conceding the fact that fans are double if not triple in noise on the 360 versus the PS3?

Arch if what you are saying is true then you really need to get off your ass and go outside instead of telling me to do so. Programing for game companies is not what I would call anywhere near active.

And pretty much what Duke said. The 360 break more, run hotter and louder, You have to pay to play online.

And as far as better games that is all a personal choice. Along with what controllers are better, and what gives YOU a better gaming experience.
