Ok but I don't know how thats physically possible since the units are pretty much exact. It's not like some are built with more fans than others. What PS3 model do you have? 60GB?

PURE PWNAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe duke, had you actually knew what you were talking about, or for that matter took the opportunity to investigate even haphazardly via google when I responded to Shaz's earlier post- you would understand that 85-90% of 360 noise pollution comes from the DVD drive and not all 360 dvd drives are created equal, do the community a favor and hit the search button before you espouse more personal experience as universal fact! Ontop of that, I cant imagine how YOU would confuse drive w/ fan noise????wtf? Even horrible abused 360 units idle fan noise is only a whisper compared to desktops and even some laptops....

Actually I wasn't even talking about the DVD drive. I was talking about from the second you turn it on the fans are sooooo loud i can barely hear my speakers... it sounds like a furnace kicking on... feels like one too. It heats my entire room (which is huge). I dont even need to turn the heat on.

and now I'm finding out you're 30 and you talk like this?

Whats points would those be?
A heat/noise/failure issue that by most early accounts MS has corrected? What exactly are the other points have you made that I should respond to, well other than Im 30......?

the future is the future. we are comparing the 2 consoles in real time, so some games that will be here some time down the road (I guess you are pointing to FF, GT, and Metal Gear for PS3) at some point don't make the system better TODAY.

First of all...lets admit that 80% (or maybe more) of the titles are Cross-Platform (at least PS3 and 360 box...if not Wii or PC). So in the end it really all doesn't matter except for the hardware and cost, and any other personal likes such as XBL or how the controller feels. Now for exclusives, to date 360 has a much longer and better list than PS3. And I am not even talking about Halo (personally i think Halo is just ok...not good, not bad, but decent).

Duke, check which type of 360 you have. I got the Falcon type as the replacement for my first one, and it's less than half the volume noise wise, and MUCH cooler from the heat output in back. I haven't bothered to identify the drive as it's less noisy as well. Also, from what little I can see of your setup, you might be getting a little echo as well, try standing the 360 more by itself and you might see a difference.

Yes Gears of War 2 and 3... which dont have release dates and probably wont come out until 09.... and the rest are not as big of blockbusters as Halo and Mass Effect...

and im being serious. Im looking for the Metal Gear Solid exclusive type games. Like Halo. Those games are not in the same category. And why would I even bother with Gears when I know its gonna come to PC like the first one did.

Update, bought the Wife a PS3 2 days ago, once she is finished 'testing' it, I'll wrap it for Christmas. Got the Uncharted, Drake's Quest or whatever it's called and she loves it.

I just don't see this testing finishing anytime soon.
