X Box 360 or PS3 ? - Page 4

Free online service is a joke. The 360 dashboard is easy to use, if you use it. I tried using the ps3 dashboard thing and couldn't figure anything out... seemed slow and lagged. Plus come on... live is better than sony's offering.

and I was thinking the same thing about your post duke.

sorry.

edit: I hate fanboy's so I'll argue with them, even though I don't care about consoles..

To each there own. It would seem that it depends on what you are used to. And PS3 online a joke? You're F88king high FREE!!

notice my edit?

lol I uh... I don't really care. The ps3 has 17% of the market. I doubt it will gain anything. Maybe next gen they'll get it right again, like ps-ps2.

This gen I think they did fail, but you know. I guess mass market just wasn't ready for it... With these price drops, I'm sure it will help sony alot.

But did you read about Nintendo saying they make 49 dollars off of ever wii they sell in the States.

Microsoft and Sony will never be able to say that.

Okay, not really. I just found it an interesting read. Basically, the guy in the editorial contrasts his different experiences with Microsoft and Sony on fixing problems.

Lets see PSP not covered by warranty anymore verses 360 STILL UNDER warranty. The guy is a douchebag, he is bitching about not getting his stuff fixed for free AFTER the warranty is over.

bwhahaha. silly rabbit
If his xbox had broke in the same amount of time before they extended the warranty, he would have gotten the same response from MS. I wonder if after a couple of days had passed and he reread his article, would he realize how stupid it sounds.

Yeah, that was the point: Microsoft had effectively extended the warranty--and was essentially fixing people's machines out of warranty. He was bitching about how Sony wasn't doing that. Silly I know...

Look at PSP Failure rates compared to 360's and there is your reason for MS extending everyones warranty. The only PSP I have ever seen broken are from user error dropping it and braking the screen or buttons.

And on that note, I've decided which console to buy.
Ok I will take the bait, which one?
Both, naturally.

When you can't decide, get everything. Let it all settle out via personal experience.
Rgr, let us know what you think about both.

End the debate, unless your a flaming fanboy(I have been in the past), or there is one exclusive title to ps3 that you must have(I had one - TekkenDR Online), 360 destroys PS3 100 fold.

I own both, ahem(I also develop on both), the PS3 is trash!

Everywhere on 360 you will go, damn they really did this feature right, conversely on PS3 you will be saying damn they couldnt have screwed this up more!!

360 has a vastly superior library, better hardware, and better online.

PS3 has free online, crappy ports of 360 games, HD-Audio off of Bluray and thats it!

For the 50 quid a year for 360 online, some bitch as PSN is free, but a head to head comparison of say COD4 (Widely considered the best/closest replication of the 360 version in terms of grfx, framerate, and general playability) it becomes immediately apparent were the 50 duckets went. The online experience on 360 destroys bot PS3 and Wii its like Sending Mike Tyson to fight a one legged, blind, retarded kid.

Yeah, Sony's implementation of Bluray IS better than MS's implementation of HD-DVD only for the fact that you cant get HD audio of the discs on 360 and you can w/ PS3. This is nice to be sure, but in the end this IS a video GAME system, and while there is more storage, Bluray has much slower read times than regular DVD = Long ass load times!

Hey, if there is an exclusive to PS3, its hard to argue against, but as far as Library in totality, 360 = major pwnage, more and better exclusives! and all cross platform titles are crappy ports of the 360. COD4 is the first title Ive seen on par w/ the 360 version, but as Sony's online infrastructure and integration is sooooo poor compared to LIVE, the 360 version is that much more enjoyable to play.

While I cant argue w/ ring of death statements (I went through 5 360's in 6 months - frustrating) Hopefully they have solved the problem as my Elite has been running flawlessly! I dont think PS3 is out of the woods just yet, Im still on my first original Xbox1 and going strong, whereas my current PS2 was the 5th one I had to get.

Forget about PS home, Ive been in the Beta since day 1 of the beta (perk of my profession), yes its cool, but its novelty eventually wears off, and doesnt hide the fact that it in no way improves the most important aspect, I think, of buying a new gen console - Playing next gen kick ass games w/ amaizing grfx and sound with friends all over the globe!

And Im spent

I disagree. The ps3 ports are beginning to not only look as good, but better than the 360 versions. It isn't like the ps3 didn't have SOME versions look better right out of the box. FNR3 looked much better than the 360 version (minus some crowd effects). Oblivion looked better, dirt looks better, Tiger Woods 2008, COD4 (debatable). Assassins creed also has a better framerate.

I think the ports looking worse are just lazy developers. The reality of the situation is the PS3 is beginning to sell much more. When it picks up steam, developers may end up switching to the ps3 as the primary platform to initially develop for. Sony has showed their loyalty to their customers by supporting their system for a long lifecycle. How was that xbox doing when the 360 debuted?

The ps3 Home experience looks very promising along with the exclusives scheduled for 2008. The system is well-built, has great out-of-the-box features and has a good game library. I would choose the ps3 because it will be supported longer and will eventually pass the 360 in sales and number of exclusives (most likely). I have both systems btw.
