I have both versions. I have played mostly under my 360 account C Diesel 450-100 win to loss ratio. I love the game. THe ps3 version has MUCH better character models. Unfortunately gamespot did a HORRIBLE comparison of the two and said the 360 is better. The only part of the 360 looking better would go to crowd animations. Most of the environments are identical. But when playing both the ps3 not only looks much better, but sounds better too. I'm not being a !!!!11 its just what my friend and I saw when we compared the two games. He has played over a thousand games online in FNR3 (K sweet) and doesn't even have a ps3. Ps3 version>360. Same goes for the other titles I mentioned.

Interesting debate going on here...but this isn't why I'm making this post:

Umm Dave...why do you have both versions of the same game?

I own both, ahem(I also develop on both), the PS3 is trash!

Everywhere on 360 you will go, damn they really did this feature right, conversely on PS3 you will be saying damn they couldnt have screwed this up more!!

360 has a vastly superior library, better hardware, and better online.

PS3 has free online, crappy ports of 360 games, HD-Audio off of Bluray and thats it!

For the 50 quid a year for 360 online, some bitch as PSN is free, but a head to head comparison of say COD4 (Widely considered the best/closest replication of the 360 version in terms of grfx, framerate, and general playability) it becomes immediately apparent were the 50 duckets went. The online experience on 360 destroys bot PS3 and Wii its like Sending Mike Tyson to fight a one legged, blind, retarded kid.

Yeah, Sony's implementation of Bluray IS better than MS's implementation of HD-DVD only for the fact that you cant get HD audio of the discs on 360 and you can w/ PS3. This is nice to be sure, but in the end this IS a video GAME system, and while there is more storage, Bluray has much slower read times than regular DVD = Long ass load times!

Hey, if there is an exclusive to PS3, its hard to argue against, but as far as Library in totality, 360 = major pwnage, more and better exclusives! and all cross platform titles are crappy ports of the 360. COD4 is the first title Ive seen on par w/ the 360 version, but as Sony's online infrastructure and integration is sooooo poor compared to LIVE, the 360 version is that much more enjoyable to play.

While I cant argue w/ ring of death statements (I went through 5 360's in 6 months - frustrating) Hopefully they have solved the problem as my Elite has been running flawlessly! I dont think PS3 is out of the woods just yet, Im still on my first original Xbox1 and going strong, whereas my current PS2 was the 5th one I had to get.

Forget about PS home, Ive been in the Beta since day 1 of the beta (perk of my profession), yes its cool, but its novelty eventually wears off, and doesnt hide the fact that it in no way improves the most important aspect, I think, of buying a new gen console - Playing next gen kick ass games w/ amaizing grfx and sound with friends all over the globe!

And Im spent
And I am the last king of Scotland whats your point other then Flaming because In my professional opinion that is all you're doing.

COD4 just finished for the night. Played against a Guy in Chiago, Boston, LA, and Miami. For free.

heh. Well the ps3 version was said to have much better graphics and a new "get in the ring" mode where you play in the first person. It was my favorite game for some time so I got the newer version. Actually beat the number 1 player in the country Odias but that is a whole nother story...probably should have been making more money
post #88 of 257
I saw both versions of cod4 ps3, 360. they look and play the same. seriously. I don't get where ppl think the ps3 will magically look better because it has blu-ray and the cell. the graphic cards are about the same, with the 360 having a slight advantage. look it up.

it just sounds like ppl are going back to when ps3 wasn't out yet and it was hyped up to hell and back

ps COD4 on pc pwns them all.

I'm still waiting darq

GBQ when ever I get some money for it I will be there just going to have to wait a little longer.

And Im your father Luke!!!

While u played 3 guys in the US, I jump on my friends list mid game private chat w/ my buddy playing RockBand, convince him to throw in COD4 and join my party..... jump out of private chat and back into the game.......

Just one prominent example of whats psooible on the 360 that isnt on the PS3.

Here's another: 18 player match in PS3 averaged about 40% of peeps with mics, due to the less than spectacular BT headset implementation on PS3 those who did use headsets had difficulty maintaining connections for multiple matches, and when this wasnt an issue, the myriad of mic setups led to poor quality communication throughout the game.

Compared to the same 18 player scenarion on 360, 85-95% of peeps have mics, alot of times its all 100%, sound quality and reliability is almost always flawless.

Hey given the choice before hand, I would have touted Sony's BT implementation all the way to the bank, but reality tells a different story, MS's design, implementation and integration of voice hardware and the supporting software in its myriad of iterations just works better, much better.

OH YEAH AND 1 MORE OUTSTANDING THING: finding a game, release weak peak hour players: ps3 avg 30-40k, 360 80-100k (Still not Halo numbers but a big difference) and lastly this is not fact just a personal observation, 360 had a higher level of decorum when playing oonline, it may take 3-5 chances to find a match on 360 compared to 5-15 on ps3......then once I got in PS3 matches 2/3 ended in the first minute with the host quiting for some reason or another, on 360 this has been more like a 1 in 20 event: not a direct shot at PS3, maybe more at Infinity WArd for not having open lobbies, but in the end still a better experience on the 360 for what ever reason......

Keep in mind EA's 08 sports titles run at 1/2 speed.
People keep saying, just wait, PS3 hardwasre sales will catch up, then developers will take the platform more seriously.
History has shown in EVERY console generation that the first console to 10 million units sold wins!!! Well 360 AND Wii been there for a while, my recollection was that PS3 was maybe just over half way there, w/ only 2 million of those units in the US. The fights over, the bell has already sounded and the judges score card is in, PS3 lost....badly. Ontop of that, I would say in my personal experience, console devs prefer the 360 platform 8 or 9 to 1. Time aint gunna change that much.

In the end, even when some of PS3's titles start to catch up maybe even slightly surpass 360 in terms of overall graphics, its not going to change all the little things that make the 360 a more pleasurable experience, from a more mature, better maintained, more responsive networking platform, a standardized chat hardware that while wont win any open source awards actually makes a uniform more hassle free enjoyable consistent experience, and oh yeah MS didnt force me into buying expensive hardware that I dont need much less want and does nothing for my in game experience (wireless adapter built in, 60 card all in one memcard reader(But not ps2 cpatable WTF!!!???), slow bluray where only a handful of titles legitamately take advantage of the extra space.....and I could go on

That isnt too say I think 360 is perfect, being the highly critical person I am even the 360 cant escape my wrath:
Asymmetrical analogs, WTF MS, I know sony has symmetrical ones, but it aint patented, its a better scheme, give me a damn symmetrical controller!!!
Fix the d-pad, its pants and you know it.
Id like to pile on about RROD, but short of dealing with your crap as can be phone support, you have stept to the plate to take care of my w/ replacement consoles as needed, so Im slightly inclined to let this slide for a while and see if the units sold in the last year really are more reliable that the first.
Proprietary hdd, costs 2-3x more than it sould(one of my biggest complaints there aint no excuse for)
No ND-DVD HD audio!!! and no matter what!!! they cant fix it short of a sizeable motherboard upgrade they seem to feel unecessary, and even if they ever do fix it, what, it'll be on what the 10th reevsion of 360 hardware???? wtf MS, shoulda done this right the first time.

In the end though for my money 360 just does sooooo much better than PS3 right now, and those waiting for it to "turn-around" for PS3 are waiting in vain, if and when it does come, it will be too little too late, just not the great relevation everyone is expecting, and in the end just not enough to turn the tide.

ahhhh Im spent again

Well then you are getting into crappy matches every COD4 game I play 85% of the players have and are using mics with no problems.

My 360 went BOOM and I will never buy one again. On the other hand my PS3 has taken more abuse and is still running perfect, quiter, cooler, and for longer periods of time then my 360 even did or could. My buddie who has a 360 is now having problems with the drive and heat issues.

For the amount of money that they both cost I will take the one that dosen't have the higher failure rate. Regardless or not if its better or easier to program code for I could careless the damn things break way to freaking easy.

So you would rather buy the 100 dollar wifi adapter for your 360 be my guest. The card reader on my PS3 gets used all the time because I setup slide shows for the faimly and they love it. Last time I check I can play ever PS2 game I have on my PS3 so to bad so sad on that one. For future people that didn't get the 60gig PS3 and don't want to spend the money on the 80 gig it does suck but PS2 are cheap. So how many games his MS backported for the 360 now? As for the extra space who knows how they will use it but I am hopping that FF games wont have to be three or four disc anymore.

Does that mean Han Solo is banging my sister???

Why are we still arguing about which is better. I think they both made up their minds over which to get.

Both.

yay.

I'm done with consoles. Until the next gen comes out. Then I'll get bored with them again.

Sony actually beat Wii in Japan this month for sales. Fairly interesting i think. The PS3 is a good system. Wifi is built in, bluray is built in, runs linux. I still got the 360 for choice of games and ability to play my friends (who also have 360s) via XBL or Sys-Link.

One thing that frustrates me about the PS3 is the controller. Yeah I know its the same as it has ever been, and and I liked PSone/2 controller just fine (more than N64/Gcube at any rate)... I guess because the keys got remapped to somewhat xbox-style (aka...triggers now do important functions, not just little things), the PS3 controller is just not built for that keymap. Also the PS3 analog sticks are less responsive/accurate than the 360. Controllers aside, no major beef with PS3.

at the end of the day....screw both. Buy a Wii!

In a debate class this is called a red herring arguement......
I could go point by point, but it aint worth it, nothing there disputes the fact the 360 is just a better game experience through and through.

Dont get me started on wii, I think I can count the online games on one hand, and use my belly button to count how many games have voice chat....hahaha
post #99 of 257
You call it a red herring I call it the reasons that I (ME not YOU) like the PS3 better and I have had both systems. Its called a personal choice or preference. Werther or not YOU agree with me is pointless because YOU are not ME.

Then why are WE still arguing over which is better?

PC is better.
