For quite some time now my laptop has randomly shut off, has swapped from AC power to Battery power on its own, and has not been able to hold a charge. I bought a new AC Power cord and was still having the same problems. Recently I came across a problem with my computer (don't know exactly what was wrong) but a few of my computer nerd friends told me to restore my computer and everything will be fine. The only way I could do this was through safe mode. I restored the first disc without any problems. I put in the second disc to complete the process and my computer shut off in the middle of it. Now the laptop wont turn on, it wont hold a charge, wont charge the battery, wont run on just AC power, ive tried holding the power up button for over a minute, I've tried everything that compaq.com has on their trouble shooting forums. When the battery is plugged in with the AC cord the lightning bolt blinks. So I can assume from this that the battery and AC cord are both fine and it is probably something more severe.
