Help needed for NP5960 Upgrade

Hy Guys'n'galls,

hope you can help me...

I have a Sager NP5960
Specs:
AMD Turion X2 TL-60
2x nVidia 7950GTX (512MB SLI Mode) OEM Cards
2GB RAM
Win XP SP2

Playing the CRYSIS Single player demo I had to learn that my lappy can only handle medium settings . I guess a higher paced CPU can bring some advantage…

Question 1:
Is it possible to upgrade the lappy with a TL-62?
Does the motherboard support the TL-62?
How about the BUS System?

Sager support couldn't give me an adequate answer. They keep writing that the manufacturer doesn’t ship the NP5960 with a TL-62. Great, I know that. But they just won’t tell me if it’s possible to upgrade to a TL-62.
I hope you guys (and galls of course) can give me a hint…

Question 2:
The 2x nVidia (so called) 7950GTX confronts me with a riddle.
I wanted to install the nTune tool by nVidia in order to OC the gfx-chip a little. During installation the lappy froze. Nothing worked any more. Ctrl/Alt/Del… …it was a no go…!!
Starting up in safe mode I could uninstall what was left of nTune, after that the lappy worked again.
Is there no possibility to OC the GPU-Chip’s?
Sager said its an OEM GFX-card and nTune won’t work… …ok, I can accept that. But there must be a possibility to OC the GPU speeds…
I hope you can give me a hint or two in order to push the performance on my NP5960
Thanks for any reply…

Well let's see...
Clevo (the ODM for the NP5960) says that the M590KE supports only up to the TL-60. Therefore Sager will say the same thing. However, other gaming laptop re-sellers, such as Xtreme Notebooks, are offering CPUs up to the TL-66. Actually, Xtreme Notebooks was the first to start using the Intel Q6600 and Q6700 CPUs while Clevo said it couldn't be done, and now Clevo has changed their tune and now supports up to the Q6700 on the D900C laptops. All the Turion CPUs are of socket S1 type. The chipset on the motherboard that Xtreme Notebooks is offering supports all the Turion CPUs. The motherboard and chipset are the same as the one offered by Sager, becasue they both get them from Clevo. So basically any socket S1 would work. You may need to upgrade your BIOS to work with the newer CPU. As far as the TL-62, why stop there with such a beast of a laptop...go all in and get the TL-66.

Here's a link to some OC software for video cards and the like. http://www.ocinside.de/html/links/ocsoft_links.htm

I haven't tried any of them yet so can't be sure if they would work or not.l

question 2.
I cant help with the overclocking, but if you go to eurocoms website, they have later drivers than sager which gave me a decent boost in 3d marks

Wow, thanx a lot.
I'll look into this issue as soon as I get the lappy fixed (the display has disembarked itself and Sager's support is somewhat lousy)
