Ok I understand theres a ranking system but its still not MMO is it? Is there an S & D (search and destroy) mode still?

I'd call it MMO if the majority of servers had player limits of more than 22 btw.

Ehh it's in between, a bunch of servers are 32 player servers, a bunch are small 16 or less servers. It does indeed have a S & D mode

You cannot compare a game like quake or unreal to COD
that's true. however, quake wars is nothing like quake, it's only set in the quake universe and can be rather compared with wolfenstein: enemy territory (which is its official predecessor). basically it can be compared mostly with battlefield2, as it is multiplayer only, has large maps, team based play and lots of vehicles.
i spent 5 hours on playing cod4 multiplayer now and have to say it's really fun, but it definately reminds me more of ut3 than of bf2 or quake wars, as it is a lot of run&gun action with a variety of weapons and really nice environments, but without real depth in strategic gameplay.
during the last weeks i spent some time with both games so far and can say they are both nice, but a different pair of shoes.

thats cuz ur card is a GS and cant cut it at HIGH res..

I play the game at hiigh res. it looks good. and my card can hack it

speak for yourself. you may have trouble... cuz ur card is a bottleneck at high res.

ask anyone abou the diff gs vs gtx at higher res.

You cant expect too much strategy out of a non-MMO shooter. I mean if the game doesnt have vehicles and the maps are fairly small theres not much to say. I really dont want to talk about this because I have not played CoD4's multiplayer but I am speaking based on CoD 1 & 2.

The graphics look very nice in single player on PS3.

it's very linear. you have to do what the game is laid out for to do.

like i have said before. you can't shoot at one set of people. they just keep on spawning and playing their npc scene over and over. until you go to the next invisible wall part of the map and the next scene cues up.

Anyone running this game in Vista 64? If so what drivers are you using?

i know and i meant that, just didn't write. what i wrote was an answer to what the other guy wrote, as he has the same card as me. and i think it's better to max out the settings and lower the res to get nice up to date graphics. i know you can run it better with a gtx.
(still runs nicely at 50-120 fps with my card at 1280 and everything max, the developers did some good work here; and i didn't oc very high)
