Aurora 7700: Just upgraded from a 3200+ to FX60 CPU, but computer won't boot! - Page 2

Nope, no way in bios to turn off cool n quiet. When I play games I just go into power in the screen saver option and turn it to always on from laptop/portable. This seems to keep the cpu running at full when you do this. Then during normal use I put it back. Also when playin games I use the FN F2 to turn the fans on high. You may need the new keyboard bios to be able to do this.

And as for your ram you are runnin at the right speed. It's dual data rate so you can multiply your 200x2=400. Seems you are runnin good .

awesome. i had a feeling the the 200 freq reading was the uneffective reading (ddr makes it 400 effectively). and yes the power option works like a charm. would it be detrimental to leave it running at full all the time or should i be turning it down after gaming?

I'm sure it will be fine to leave it on...

these machines are DTR's and a lot of members rarely move their DTR's around =D

you should do a before n after benchmark test =P

hmm yeah, i should, lol. i already have the processor in so i'm not about to swap out the old one, but i think i'll definitely do one once the new video card comes in. what software does everyone use? 3dsomething..?

just ran 3dmark05 and here are my results with a 6800 ultra core clocked at 406 mhz and memory frequency at 1060 mhz, with an amd fx60:

after running these tweaks via coolbits -
3dmarks: 3999
cpumarks: 5599

after undoing the changes i made in that tweak -
3dmarks: 4897
cpumarks: 5599 (same)

so for some reason, that guide seemed to have lowered my benchmark score and average fps. weird...
