Really? Games finally take up enough CPU power that they make a big difference? Shows what happens when you (I) don't pay attention to the hot-rod-PC scene for a couple of years...

Darq isn't feeling well today folks. Ignore that last statement--he doesn't really swing that way. I think.

There will always be people around to crush your dreams.

What?!? Oh man I'm in trouble again. And I didn't even mean to be this time.

I'm not saying it's a bad choice, these monster CPUs; it's just that high-end CPUs didn't make much difference a few years ago.

I understand that newer games are more CPU-intensive these days--better AI, more brute-force number-crunching to feed the high-end monster graphics engines, etc.

This motherboard and processor combo to me means the best bang for your buck. They will accept future processors in such a manner to extend the life of the system and just on it's current merits this system will be powerful enough for the future.

Hmm, it might fit, due to the placement of the two sets of high-speed PCI-E slots on the mobo. I'm interested to see if we'll get an SLI bridge with the mobo, and how long it will be.

The box contents say it has an SLI Bridge.

You two go build this sucker, test it out, and let us know how it plays. If it's good, I'll build one too.

Sweet find I forgot completely about the Audio issues that might arise. Sit too near computer hardware. I'm going for powerful and quiet. Thanks!

Yeap, I have enough headaches don't need to add a loud ass computer to the mix. Besides with the rigs you guys are building there is going to be enough fan noise when you're playing games for extend periods of time might as well make everything else as quiet as possible.
