can't buy a new notebook, so what now ><!

Thread Starter
it's been 2 years with my w3a/z63a, i'm happy that i got it but i regret not buying w3v due to the onboard video card. My brother convince me not to buy one (since he just got 1), so now i'm stuck.

I got addicted to World of warcraft, and i don't think i'll buy a desktop yet until i head back to canada in january.

Is it worth upgrading the cpu or upgrade the ram?

i currently have 768 (512 + 256), will any of this upgrade improve my game performance?

Thanks

Upgrading RAM will help performance. I use this machine with 2GB of RAM, and WoW played excellently on it. I assume that your GPU is sharing memory. More RAM = (hopefully) more shared RAM for the GPU.

I have a 1.66Ghz Core 2 Duo (32-bit only) that played WoW at low-mid settings. So, take it for what you will. In reality, your CPU is probably not the major bottleneck.

With an integrated GPU, you shouldn't expect to be able to keep settings high. Reducing all settings to near minimum and shutting down any extra processes should help.

So, in summary, bump up RAM and keep settings low. WoW was well designed to work with the minimal settings.

Regards,

z.
