That is crazy, an 8800 in a 15'. So now I wonder............will they offer the 8800gtx cards in an upgrade to the poor saps like me who just bought the 9750?

Hmmm... There are some discrepancies on these sites. Looks like they are not ready to go yet. I didn't decode the messages myself, so I'll just ask you all this:

Is there any chance this is a red herring? The reason I ask is that when going thru the configurator I get an estimated ship date of 11/14. Isn't the "official" launch supposed to be the 19th? Perhaps just another issue with a not fully updated page?

Also, has anyone been able to find a page with detailed tech specs on this yet? I'm quite interested what chipset this uses. There are references to the NVIDIA 590 SLI, but I cannot find any info up on NVIDIA.com yet about mobile boards w/ that chipset, nor can I find anything on the 8800 go cards. Now I realize that NVIDIA will probably give access to their partners prior to the "official" release of the 8800 go's, but I'm skeptical about this whole thing when I can supposedly have a unit in my hand with 8800 go's in SLI prior to their release.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure hoping this is all legit and just a bit sloppy ATM, because that gives me hope that upgrades will be available for the 9750 sooner rather than later.

Just thought I'd play devil's advocate for a bit...

O_O I just placed my order yesterday. I think I will have to cancel it tomorrow lol. I thought the next generation alienware laptop will cost a lot more expensive. After configuration, the new Alienware Laptop price isn't much difference than M9750. It said start shipping on Nov. 14. I think this is just a test page for Alienware. Anyone have any idea when will this laptop will be available for ordering. Thanks!

OK I dug a little farther...

One option in the configurator is Intel Turbo Memory. According to Intel's site, this requires the 965 chipset, so my question is this:

Do you think this will be a Santa Rosa based lappy w/ the PM965 and an extra NVIDIA 590 SLI chip to enable SLI much like the N100 chips in the 9750? Or do you think this will actually be an NVIDIA Mobo, and Intel just doesn't list it yet?

I am curious simply because I am already engaged with AW CS over my 9750, and it's 945 chipset limitations, and I'd like to be able to offer to upgrade this this puppy if they'd credit me back for my 9750....

I know, I'm not holding my breath or anything - but a boy can dream, right? =P
