Hey, would we be able to upgrade the CPU's in our 9750's? Or are those SR's?

From what i saw, it was not available on the 15" or 17".

My best guess is that AW is saving the Core 2 Quad for an upcoming mALX. It might be something along the lines of this beast:

Just guessing.

This is the computer that I have been waiting a year for . Ever since the 8800's came out in the desktop.

I would expect DELL to offer the dual 8800M's in their XPS 1730 since an upgrade from the 8700's was promised. That and the fact DELL owns Alienware and they share parts aquisition.

I would like to see the spec's on the 8800M to see what kind of performance increase is expected. I am sure this is based on the 8800GT desktop card that was just released. The die shrink plus lowered clocks is the only way you could make such a power/heat monster work in a notebook.

After that it will be a decision between DELL or Alienware for who gets my $4500.

I wonder how many hits they are getting on the links that Yang posted?

I hope the 15incher won't be as thick as the 17incher. I can't wait to see the weigh of both and thickness. There are lots of pros and cons between these two.

I talked to an agent yesterday he said Nov 19th is the targeted official launch. I hope there will be no delay.
I hope that the new 15 incher doesn't have heat related issues like the m5550. The new 8800m GPU would burn a whole through the notebook chassis if not for the heat sink and fan. And there shouldn't be a delay unless something really bad happens to the new computers...
Let's hope for the same. For me after getting a desktop because a long wait and delay cause by my previous m9700 problems, getting a 17incher laptop won't do any good since it's too heavy to carry around with me and the parts are just a more expensive than desktop parts. If it's seldom move away from my desk, might as well get 8800gt for the desktop (400 usd in Sli compared to 1000usd!). Having a desktop and a portable laptop would be a better option.

And hope it doesn't have heat issue or I will cry having bad luck twice. 17incher are great but I am done with that. I will surely missed the old days (yup literally since my previous m9700 was only 8 months old and already r.i.p).

I've been saving up for a long time for the release of the 8800go... Now if anyone would release a game that actually needs that kinda juice. DX10 = teh flop... Reading articles about DX10.1 last week and the impending release of the Geforce 9800s really kinda soured me. I may just end up changing in all my savings for dollar bills, wadding them up, and fill a few bean bag chairs with them.

lol this is fantastic. I can't wait to sell my desktop and buy one of these aliens.
I forsee many overheated 15inch laptops and lots of b****...I mean..nvm.

FYI the 17inch was pretty expensive when I was able to play with it.

Another thing this was just a test page that we where not supposed to see so it looked like the old M7700/M9700 page with different items like Core 2 Duo etc etc.

I'm going to have to get an alienware credit card now damnit...
