Well, even if 3.3 is the max, for me, it's worth it for the extra .3 gigs what with Vista being such a hog...plus, who knows what SP2 will bring

I noticed that on AW main page, that the m15x looks like it has a matte black finish. What do you think.
Or am I seeing things?

Decided not wait any longer so pulled the trigger today on the new M15X. With the options i ordered was given a Feb 25 ship date so hopefully will have time to make some adjustments if needed. This is my 3rd Alien and have been completely satisfied with their products and service so far.

What's your configurations?
Check out the m15x now! You can configure it!
Select the $2149 option and it lets you select the GPU and the illuminated keyboard!

Alienware seems to be on a shortage of 8800m's, smartbays, and blue-ray readers. This doesn't look too good for potential buyers.

Thanks for ther congrats. i know by reading the forums some people have not had good experiences with Alienware. But for me all has gone well and never had a problem with the equipment or the rare times i called customer service with questions. 200GB 7200RPM Ssystem Hard Drive
8X DVD (RW), CD (RW)
Basic Memory pacakge (Will upgrade later)
AlienFX illuminated keyboard
Inernal Intel Wireless card
3 Year Warranty

YOu have some nice specs there. Everything is maxed out, besides the blueray player.
Did not order Blue Ray as all my DVD's are the old style.
Nice specs!! I might get the same as you aswell,
IMO Blue Ray is useless, it might come handy in a couple more years.

I will be waiting on BR myself. It looks nice, but I am not rushing out to replace my DVD collection.

Does anyone have any experience with the external soundcard?

I have been reading good and bad.

I think I remember HammerHead talking about the "Creative" sound card add-ons in conjunction with the m9750 and the m9700. I will see if I can find it
