rename bootcamp partition?

Hi,

I am an inexperienced Mac user that just purchased an MBP. I set up a bootcamp partition that seems to be working perfectly except I must have missed the part where you name the partition during setup (it is called "untitled"). Anyone know how I might rename this partition? Does not appear to be available in the same way that the Macintosh HD is.

Thanks,

bob

Oops, should have done a more thorough search. nevermind.

For posterity -

The drive is NTFS thus cannot be renamed on the Mac side. I renamed the drive on the XP side, in fact I renamed it ".windows" so that it would not show up on the Mac desktop anymore.

Ha...that's a clever idea! I don't have an Intel Mac yet but I am planning on running Windows when I do get one and having the extra drive on the desktop would probably drive me nuts. I'll have to remember to use a period infront of the name. I never even thought of doing that for a volume name.

In leopard you can actually set the desktop to not show harddrive volumes. I have mine to only show external volumes when they are connected so my desktop is nice and clean. Seeing the MacHD all the time bugged me.

You could do that in Tiger too.

I like seeing Macintosh HD myself.

I used to until I got iStatMenus... now I have no qualms in covering up that corner of my desktop.

Here's a quick question. After you do a clean install with Leopard OS, can you still use boot camp to make another partation for the old Tiger OS? I just wanted to know if it was possible.

Just make the partition while you're installing Leopard.

The menubar in the installer has Disk Utility in it.
