unresponsive keyboard

Have and love my G3 ibook, however I literally woke up one morning and my keyboard DOES NOT WORK. The computer turns on, the trackpad and selector button works, but no keys work! In fact, it's like the entire keyboard is dead, since no lights illuminate either (for example the little light that is activated when you push caps lock) and all I can do is rely on the trackpad. And since my ibook is password protected and I can't type my password, I can't download the new OS (in the hopes that it might fix my problem) or anything else for that matter.

Any ideas? I'm desperate!

Well, can you hook up an external keyboard in the meantime? This might isolate some driver issues.

The next thing I would check is to see if the actual ibook keyboard plug has not come loose.

I'll try that with a usb keyboard... how do I check on the ibook keyboard "plug"? I don't know what that is!

Thanks!
