Arctic Silver and Video Card on 7700

Have a 7700 that is around 2 1/2 years old, purchased new, and use "Get Thermal" to monitor temps. and control fan speed. Was thinking about doing the Arctic Silver on the graphics card. The Alienware site shows how to remove and reseat the card but is this necessary to only clean and apply Arctic Silver on the heat sink? Must the video card be removed to accomplish this? What's the story with the blue thermal pads? Checked the Radio Shack website and local stores are carrying Arctic Silver 5.

yeah you have to remove the video card assembly and take it apart to apply the AS5 on the GPU and heatsink. it's easy, don't even worry about it.
