---Release Notes---

It seems that NVIDIA has started to finally release worthwhile drivers, and the new ForceWare 169.09 continues this (hopefully long-lasting) trend. Performance is improved in many areas over the already impressive MobileForce 169.04. Because of the number of requests, this driver is being released for Windows XP and Windows Vista, in BOTH 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions. So, as always, have fun, report back, and get to gaming!!!

---Other Information---

If you are updating your driver, please follow the directions in THIS THREAD. If you don't use follow these directions, and whine about problems with the driver not working properly, we're going to ask you to use follow these directions anyways, so please, update your driver properly . . . We will thank you later.

Please post RESPONSIBLY!!! We will answer your question as soon as possible.

All issues and/or concerns regarding this particular MobileForce driver are to be confined to this thread. Any other topics created regarding issues with this or any other driver will be REMOVED. Is there any specific difference between 169.09 and 169.04? improved performace for 7900GS/GTX? known bug fixes? I was asking because I wasn't sure if Nvidia puts out the drivers to improve Geforce 8 series, or do they do anything for Geforce 7 series?

Thanks!

I personally notice that these are a bit better for me, but the only way to know for you is to try them yourself.

broken overclocking ability

cannot set clocks with these drivers; tried reinstalling coolbits2 but same result

I don't think its anything particular you've done as I had the same result witht he similar laptopv2g drivers the other day

back to 163.9 for me, can overclock no problem. The fact that I can do that points to me that its not an uninstall/install thing

thanks anyway, i'm gonna donate some server/beer money to your site for you and krazy, cheers

*edit, no donate button? gotta link?

Hmm, just ran 3DMark05 with the 169.04 drivers with stock clocks and got 8200. Thats with 2GB of RAM and not 3. I'm in the process of installing these new ones and seeing if it improves my score at all.

Alright, update on my problem I installed these new drivers and tested out EP2 with them. I got the same result of having no HDR. So I turned off MSAA and I got my HDR. But I cant run both. However, with the 94.20s I could have HDR and MSAA on at the same time in Ep2 and have them both work. So did nvidia just get gay and automatically disabled HDR on a card that runs AA and doesn't support HDR+AA, even though HL2's implementation allows it?
Raised my 3DMark05 score to 8500, an increase of 300 points, or 3.5%. Hey I'll take any increase I can get. Keep up the good work Tony Although as ZX81 said above, overclocking is disabled.

The NVIDIA 7-Series cards CANNOT perform AA and HDR at the same time. Period. It's a hardware thing and NOT a software/driver thing.

The only way you could have possibly "enabled" HDR and AA at the same time is if one or the other was enabled, and you didn't notice, as both were "enabled".

As far as overclocking, have you tried ATiTool or RivaTuner? CoolBits (overclocking) has been disabled from the NVIDIA Control Panel for some time now (nearly all 1xx.xx drivers)...

I am aware of that Tony, but Valve didn't implement true HDR. For example, look at the two screenshots below. (screenshots revomed)

HDR+AA --> 94.20

Look at the flood lights

AA only HDR disabled --> 94.20

The flood lights are dimmer and the light is less realistic

As you can see, I can enable HDR+AA under 94.20s but for some reason I can't under 169.09. Nvidia must of changed something in the drivers.

gr8 drivers ! gr8 work Tony, brilliantly done noticed a bit performace increase in Test Drive Unlimited (1-2 fps) I recommend them !

The 32bit link doesnt work the download never start anyone else having this problem??
I was using ATItool to overclock before.
I have difficulty getting the file from Mediafire. It had been the same situation with previous version 2 weeks ago. I guess patience is the key.

But it pissed me up cus the x64 link is working just fine but not x32 btw can anyone upload it to rapidshare for me? thanx in advance!!

Same here :S
Overclocking is disabled with this driver. Stock clocks cannot be changed with ATI Tool.

Is there a way around this or another utility that works?
Tony.. can I upload 32bit version to a gr8 polish site and then post here a link to them?
GalyPoland that is not a bad idea at all, considering that the current link to the drivers is not working. Either you or Tony should do something about it

Thanks
