PLEASE HELP TOUGHEST PROBLEM w/ SONY VGN-FS630/W

Hey Everyone!

My computer is the Sony VAIO VGN-FS630/W series. The computer will turn on, but nothing on the screen will appear.

How can I fix my computer?

Please HELP!

P.S. I know the option of sending this computer to a sony technician, but that will cost more than $600... so I'm contemplating if I should buy a new laptop...

A few questions that might help you...

1) Are you sure that you have power to the computer?

2) Is there a reset button that you can press?

3) Take out battery and put back in and make sure that it's locked in place. Plug in AC adapter and see if charging light lights up. Let it charge up for a while and then try turning it on.

4) Can you get to BIOS setup screen?

I Have The Same Problem..
Did You Get Any Luck ??
I Have Power, It Turns On I See The Lights Turn On And Hear The Hard Drive Make Noise., But Nothing On The Screen It Stays Blank.,i Can't Get To The Bios Screen Or Anything.,i Don't Know If I Have A Reset Button.,pls Pls Anyone Have Help

let me guess the 3 lights on the kb cover (capslock, numlock and scroll lock lights) dont go off they stay on.....

it is a bad south bridge which for most people means a bad motherboard.

fs640-fs742 has issues with this
