Ex7 Problems: need options

My fiancee purchased this laptop last year. It ran strong just until about 2 months ago. Overheated, was a motherboard failure according to Hypersonic. Laptop was send and jusr returned other day. They had it for over a month. I am not going into the Customer Service ride from hell, but ill say when OCZ takes over i hope it gets alot better.

Laptop had preinstalled Xp of some sort on it. We used the CD key given to her at purchase in her OEM packet. That key does not work ?? She has the home version, possible that XP-pro is installed? (have no key for that)

Even if i wanted to install her homeXP version. I need to but a usb floppy to use the raid drivers correct?

Can this laptop be suited with vista32?

what options do i have?

Thanks for your time.

I had the same problem last time I had gotten my laptop back. The hard drive had died and they sent it bakc with a new one and the cd-key would not work! I eventually gave up on trying ot email or clal them after multiple tries.

What finally did get my system up and running was using the restore disk that came with the laptop to put windows back on the drive. After I did that I tried the cd-key again and it worked.

your gonna have problems finding all the drivers needed to run Vista on the EX7..I have the same piece of crap...Hypersonic does a very poor job at posting drivers...I have an Older XPS from Dell..XPS GENERATION3 bought in 2004 and Dell has drivers and other updates posted for download to be able to run Vista on it...I am running Vista and XP on my Dell only because I had to learb Vista so I can work on computers that have Vista Installed on them...honestly ..Vista is crap specialy playing Games like Medal Of Honor AirBorne.....I use Vista to surf the net..when I want to do some seriouse gaming...I boot into XP...and since I dont us XP to acess the net..I dont have any antivirus...firewall or even windows updates on it..and man its fast without all that crap running on it...also when I scan for virus's when I boot into Vista..it still scans My D: drive which contain Xp ...so its still protected..you can buy a USB floppy cheap...also I found that if you dont run the Raid array on the EX7 you will lower your temp a tiny bit...It lowered my temp enough to play airborne with all the settings at the lowest....I tried it with Raid enabled and it would skip...hang...lag....run super hot....I cant trust buying another laptop from Hyoersonic..its been a waste of 4 grand........basicaly a rip off

Shagvirus, if you need some help or guidance through the reinstall of the OS, please contact our support. We will do our best to walk you through the process. Vista is not currently fully supported, with the EX7, but we can do what we can to help you with it.

Mountain Man, I have made the offer before of having you send in your notebook for our techs to look at. How about you give us a chance to repair the system if there is something wrong with it?

I called tech support...explained the 2 major problems...was told they needed to do some checking and would call me back....still waiting......for that call..antway...to many horror stories on people who had similar problems...most said they didnt get it back for over a month...many said it was worse when they did get it back...those threads are posted....anyway...I wrote it off...use it for when I travel to just acess the net...basicaly I could have bought one of those 600 buck walmarts laptops and it would be the same.....I hjavent been here in awhile but thought I would check since hyper got sold...funny thing..people still complaining about the same things.......yall have severe problems that need addressing at hypersonic...many review boards have nothing but bad things to say about hypers laptops...I do know this ..the girl that answers the phone there is very rude ...we all understand pc will have problems.....but tech and customer support..except you...are horrible and thats whats costing you customers....and bad reviews....

Mountain Man, OCZ recently acquired Hypersonic. I expect that in short time you as well as others will be able to see a huge difference not only in our customer service, but in all our service in general.

In regards to the person that picked up the phone and was rude...that person has not been at Hypersonic in over a year. OCZ is committed to customer service and overall increase of customer satisfaction.

I am sure that in some time people will be able to tell the difference between the level of support that we have been able to give before and what we are able to do now.

I can attest to this. OCZ has been great to me since the 650 athlon days purchasing the mod board to overclock it. It is sad to see a company make, what i think are good laptops, but the customer relation is really poor.

Wishing for a better future with Hypersonic.

Pat, i am pretty good with computers. really i was just confirming my options. IF i need to i can call support to walk me thru. Thank you for your time

the thing is ...my warranty has been up since april..I just got the one year...so I wont be dealing with customer or tech support...Like I have said before...Hyper lost me as a customer..I wont risk another 4 grand or more on one of their laptops..its a shame because I realy wanted to find a good laptop builder I could trust and recomend to the people I do work for...thats why I e-mailed the new owners explaining my problems with Hypersonic and told them if they wanted to keep or even get new customers..they needed to make some drastic changes....I have given up on boutique builders for laptops...prices to high to risk having the same thing happen to me again...I am looking at trying to build my own laptops...no luck so far...but until then I recomend toshiba to my customers..very good performance on high end machines with a great price and options that are standard..plus tech support is above average and you have the option of sending it back to them for reapirs or lots of cities have places that are certified to fix toshiba,s so you just go and drop it off and pick it up in less than 10 days...no month or 2 waiting and risking things happening in shipoment..I do wish yall luck....but I cant take another 4 grand or more chance of Hypersonic...thats a shame that my reviews of Hypersonic will always be based onmy EX7 and dealing with yall durring that time since I wont be buying another system from yall...even if things to turn around I wont be able to verify it so I wont be able to recomend them

lots of people think there is no longer a need for floppy drives...but thats far from being true...many dos utilities I use require FLOPPY and going with a USB Floppy is the way to go...from here on out you will never need to have one built in a desktop or lap top....they do come in handy and since you can just plug them into any computer with a USB port......you will always have one when needed...thats the one good thing about SAGER...they include one in their laptops as standard hardware
