IBM 600E Setup Manually

Thread Starter
A friend has given me his old IBM 600E. There are no CD's so everything will need to be set up from scratch. I have Windows 98SE and want to install it.

The Model is IBM 600E, 2645-8A0. I have downloaded all the drivers from the Lenovo site (with some odd instructions in).

I've also managed to find a pdf hardware manual and users manual (that took some searching).

The hard disk is blank and so I guess I'm ready to start. But how? I tried an install from the W98 CD but it's all a mess so I've managed to wipe the hard disk and need to start over.

I'm complete idiot at this stuff (point and click is easy enuf). I know about the existance of black boxes and something called bios, but really haven't a clue. I have a boot disk and have looked at it and I managed setup (which is how I installed the first time). The disk wipe I did format c: (had to ask someone).

I guess I would need step-by-step instructions on what to do. I have a funny feeling this is not as straight forward as I would hope it to be.

Please can anyone help?

Thank you, Eejay

Got it running to the point where I want it to.

Had to do the bios first, then W98SE, then the display, sound and other stuff. There's more, but for the purposes of usage that's all I need
