Alienware m15x and m17x pictures - Page 6

Not yet, but I am like the config with the 8800 GTX.
I hesitate because I want to go look at a screen that is glossy so that I can see if I can live with it.
Either way, I will probably order it in the next two weeks.
I don't need it right now, so I can wait a few.
But this is the one I have been waiting for.
My conditions were Santa Rosa Processor, Turbo Memory, 8800 graphics card, and a cool looking rig. Yep, that describes the m15x.
I especially like the lighting FX and the custom name plate.
Nice little touch.

Yep, I agree with you. This is the ONE computer, that is really worth going for.
It'll be a while till I get one. Right now I'm in the process of selling my m5550. Don't know yet though, it's a pretty cool computer. It's hard to let go of it. lol.

Scott:

I have a glossy screen on the XPS m1530 and I have to say that it's not as bad as I thought it would be. The glare would probably be difficult if I were to use it outside on a sunny day, but sitting on a computer desk with the window blinds open during the day is not bad at all.

Thanks for the feedback mb.
I use my laptop in a variety of environments and I don't want it to be a big issue.
A little glare I can deal with, but a lot will drive me crazy.

It's not for everyone that's for sure. I am surprised at how well it looks...

I know that I would like the richness of the colors.

That's the thing that is really appealing to me now too Scott. I'm just got used to the matte display of my m5550 and switching back to glossy will be something different. Another thing about glossy is that it's easier to notice blemishes and smudges which I hate.

I really hope that they will be coming out with the matte black finish.
Maybe that is why it is taking so long on releasing the black case.

I'm hoping that the black case comes out soon too. I want something other than the silver saucer color. It also makes the alienfx stand out more, IMO.

really 7 lbs for a notebook that has this much power is not much weight...
