New Omega Catalyst 4.4 drivers installation issues

Hello. I just installed the newest omega drivers 4.4 with hopes it would identify the Mobility 9700 Correctly. However, it still detects it as a 9600 but with the ability to turn on/off fastwrites this time. So i did the usual manually selecting the driver for the mobility 9700 and when i do, i lose the smartgart tab in the display properties. Strange. Im wondering if when i manually select the mobility 9700 it is messing with my agp rate and fastwrite setting but i have no way to check them since the tab disappears. Does anyone think it would affect my performance, battery life etc to leave the display detecting as a mobility 9600? Is it even really a 9700 mobility we have in our 8790's? Just strikes me as very odd.

Sager 8790 p4-3.2 512mb ddr 400 60gbb 7200 rpm hdd Ati radeon 9700 (9600??) 256mb.

This is due to the drivers not including the Plug'N'Play Tag info specific to the card on the 8790. This is not neesarily a huge deal considering how new the lap top is. I did go through the entire inf and there is no diffrence between loadin the Radeon Mobility 9600 or the 9700 Series other than the label... both load identical sections. So I would just run the re-install drivers shortcut and let it install the drivers.
