My g5 Mouse Keeps Dying

I don't know what's going on with my mouse but I do know that I play all FPS games with 2000 DPI and I'm adjusted well to it. And whenever I plug in my mouse it just keeps dying after about a few mins after being plugged in.

The weird part about the whole thing is that POwer is flowing through it because the Lights on the bottom are lit up. However the DPI light goes dead. So esentially the laser appears to be dying or something. Any ideas? I'm going to call Logitech when I get off from work to hope to fix the problem or maybe get a replacement mouse sent. The thing is as old as Battlefield 2142, so it's not that old.

Well my Situation is werid it's SetPoint by Logitech that's messing it all up. Somewhere between the Windows Stuff and SetPoint it's screwing up. So I remove SetPoint or turn it off and then there are no probles.

Try this. SetPoint sometimes corrupts. I figure out it was the wdf01000.sys file.

1. Remove SetPoint
2. Rename C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\wdf01000.sys to something else (or delete the file)
3. Restart
4. Re-install SetPoint (it will re-install the wdf01000.sys file as part of the install)
5. Hopefully it will work for you.

Has nothing to do with Setpoint because I tried it using windows utilities and it still died. On a PC that didn't have SetPoint. So I sent it back to Logitech and they sent me a new G5, no complaints other then that my grips are no longer made of rubber but plastic. A comfort thing.
