I'm currently getting ready to buy a notebook and I'm dithering between the Asus M6800N and the Samsung P30. The problem is, I haven't actually been able to try an Asus out and the keyboard is really important for me -- I was able to type on a P30 in a shop for a while and really liked the keyboard, and also the whole general appearance of the machine. The display was also excellent.
The disadvantage of the P30 for me is that I live in Germany but need the English version of XP. The P30 is only available with the German OS and Samsung categorically refuses to exchange the CD for an English version, I've already asked them. I can get the Asus without an OS, which is a big plus for me, and it's also considerably cheaper.
Any touch typists (all 10 fingers, not looking at the keyboard...) out there happy or unhappy with the Asus? Any feedback on the P30 -- haven't been able to find anything on it in the forum here...
Another drag with both machines is that neither has a reader for Compact Flash -- the Samsung can only read Memory Stick, overpriced proprietary Sony technology which I would never even consider using...
Oh yes, one more thing: Is it possible to replace the WiFi module in the Asus? I'd want to upgrade to 811g as soon as it becomes available...
