PC Microworks Black Hawk SLI 8800m gtx

Hey Guys,

Anyone else thinking of getting the Blackhawk from:

http://www.pcmicroworks.com/blackhawk.htm

I live in New Zealand and they will ship, I'm just a bit worried as most of the feedback on the company is a little older and the price of the system if you compare it to Eurocom is way cheaper! They say this is due to aggressive pricing to get their brand established!

The machine looks awesome but I don't want to loose $4500, any ideas???

Cheers

I saw this last night. I am interested in this rig, but I think I'd rather wait untill Alienware or and XPS comes out with the sli 8800gtx. More reputable companies on warranty issues would make a big difference to me. Plus, the Alienware rigs always look pretty darn nice.

Yep, thats what I'm thinking, but damn it's tempting, I specced an identical system with Eurocom and it's nearly $2000 more, though, thats making me wary.

I don't even have a desktop, nor want one. I'm self employed with several businesses that lead to travel between the stores, so mobility is important too me. I'd hate to spend 4 grand on a laptop, but one that is future proofed with sli 8800gtx's is certainly intriguing (and yes, I game when I get the chance, so I want a powerful rig). But I would still prefer to stay with Dell or a well known comany for several reasons. The alienware option would really be my first choice, but the price point on the blackhawk is lower for the same to better specs. XPS will likely be priced as high as the Alienware. In any case, I will likely wait until these rigs have hit the market for a few months to guage owner feedback. But I was still tempted to preorder that blackhawk yesterday - especially with the black friday sale saving $200 off the top. A well spec'd sli 8800gtx rig with every bell and whistle I would need would have come in just under $3500. About a grand less than the Alienware or XPS will likely cost from what I can tell from this link: http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=1&gl=us

I ordered the XR5 from them. I looked online between Dell, Alienware, Sager and PC MicroWorks. Dell and Alienware are dragging their feet on putting something out. I am pressed for time since I need the system delivered by the end of January.

The XR5 will be the same as the Sager since they are both based on the CLEVO. I read some great reviews of the company on RESELLERRATINGS.COM.

Hey, no worries. The mobility of a high powered laptop is what makes it so great for my situation. Hell, when I'm home I sit in my lazboy with my laptop in my laptop and my bigscreen tv in front of me. Total coach potato like that, but I still prefer it to a desktop. But I do realize that you can build a top notch desktop for about half the price of a high end laptop. The only reason I would ever do this is if I built myself a home theater room and wanted to play games on that big screen in that room. The thought has crossed my mind, but my wallet can't afford it yet.

BTW - I have been playing XBOX 360 on my 65" HD TV, and to me, it doesn't compare to gaming on my 1900x1200 17" i9300 with headphones on. More immerson and better rez on my laptop.
