VGN-C220E Video Driver Problem- 10$ PAYPAL IF YOU FIX IT!

Does anyone know IF/WHERE or HOW I can update this stupid video card driver, I can't play WOW on this laptop because I can't update this driver, I can't update it because Sony being the asses that they are, made it so you can only use THEIR video driver which they do not update.

(taken from wow forums)

Video

Intel 945 Graphics
* Users are reporting that it will crash into a black screen. A message saying that the Display driver stopped responding and has recovered will follow. It has been reproduced in-house.

The only way to fix this is to update the video driver which I cannot do......

Here is the driver I have...

Driver Date : 12/13/2006
Driver Version: 7.14.10.1151

Now if I go to the sony website it has
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...=2384&os_id=28
Last Modified : 01/08/2007
Version : 7.14.10.1114i

Is this older than the driver I have? And also I can't even install it if it's the newer one, It doesn't install it simply says "Searching for device" forever and never finishes so it's pointless..

What makes me so mad is that when I go to the Intel website they have the driver I need.. But i can't install the damn thing because of Sony's BS..

This is what happens when I try to install the Intel driver from the website

lame..

Is there any driver out there that is newer than the one I have? Is there anything I can do other than just waiting for sony to update their driver which they won't do...

If anyone can fix this I'll paypal them 10 bucks for the trouble.... <3

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Go to www.intel.com and get the latest drivers for the 945 chipset you use?

That's exactly what I can't do... because Sony only allows their drivers to run on their laptops.. I need an Updated Sony driver, and I think that their isn't even any in existence.. 20 bucks if anyone can get me a working driver that corrects my problem, Mark

Don't think you're going to have much luck with this, unless Sony releases an updated driver...

You might want to email or call Sony to report the problem.... maybe they'll take care of this when and if they update the driver if they're aware of the issue...

Just a thought....

You have the 945GM chipset. You can download the driver there and install it onto your system to get it updated. All Sony does is release these very same things bu with a check in the installer to verify the model matches.

This group only confirms my own frustration. VISTA SUX! Rumor has it that Microsoft has deemed Vista the ME OS. The only problem is we got to be their test market.

I've got a VGN220E whatever. Nice one. I hate Vista it sux. I can't stand the pop up dialog boxes that ask if you want to run this program or that one. I hate the idea that it's browsing is jerky, and the most important one that hardly any programs run well on it.

I'd like to install XP on my newest VAIO but I'm afraid I won't be able to make all the buttons work. Does anyone know if there are specific drivers for all the stuff that sony puts on these computers to make all the buttons and bells and whistles work on xp?
