9300 ram upgrade

Thread Starter
Just need some advice as to which brand RAM to go with. I see them on the web for like $20 for a 1gig stick? Is it really that cheap or are they just crapy?

Please Plese Please help me out, i've tried searching the threads but cant seem to locate any topics about this.

Any links to the website that sells them would be awesome as well. Thankyou!

Well I just purchased 2 x 1Gb PNY (OPTIMA) PC-5300 for ~$50 from Staples. It's worked great so far. Newegg.com has a ton of memory and usually good prices. Of course it all depends on how much RAM you have and how much you want to add.

Brands I've personally used are PNY, Crucial, Kingston, Hynix and all have worked great.

g.skill is cheap and seems to get really good reviews at newegg. And if something is wrong and you post there, they seem to respond most of the time.

search for pc2-4200 or pc2-5300 for any of these brands. the latter is slightly faster but cheaper!

You can't overclock it, so just get the cheapest stuff you can find.
