help installing Windows XP on Vostro 1500

My buddy bought this Vostro 1500, came with Vista which he hates.

I want to install XP on it but the XP install does not see the HardDrive. The laptop obviously doesn't have a floppy to load the drivers so how else can I get XP to see the HD???

Im really lost....

Go to BIOS and switch the hard drive mode from AHCI to IDE. It will see the hard drive now.
If you want to use AHCI mode, you have integrate the SATA drivers with nLite or supply the drivers on a diskette while installing or you can add them after installing in IDE mode.

really, didn't realize that was a quick fix. What is AHCI anyway? (i'll search). Anyway I was able to use nLite and add the drivers.. nLite = very cool.
