Help with screen on Acer 5102

Hi all, I have a question!

Just lately I cracked the screen on an Acer 5102, now I am looking for a replacement, I am finding a lot of screens for the Acer 5100 and not so much for the 5102.

My question is are the LCD screens in the 5100 and 5102 the same or different? Also where do people normally buy laptop screens, I am finding a lot on ebay, is that safe?

the 5100 is the general series. the 5102 is a specific model within that series. as is the 5104, or 5103

the screens are all the same.

To second that, they tend to be compatible with screens for 5650, 5630 and 3960 models as long as they match in size. I've just swapped a 5630 screen from a 5105 without issue. There tend to be three main brands CMO, AUO and LG from the service manuals the AU Optronic screens look like the better ones to get since they offer higher contrast and luminance.
