XPS 1530 vs Inspiron 1520

So the new XPS 1530 is out. A nice looking machine I must say. However, apart from looks, how does this machine differ significantly from the inspiron 1520 to deserve the XPS badging? The specs seem almost identical except that the inspiron has more screen options and the xps is available with the larger 2.6 GHz processor.

it gets xps badge because it's thinner and has the new wedge shape from the 1330. xps no longer means gamiing.. it just menas premium... that's why the 1730 is called "xps gaming" since it's the only one really built for it.

The screen options on the 1530 are really, really dissappointing. seriously? that's it? I've had a 1920x1200 screen on a 15.4 inch laptop since mid 2003... and the newest, bestest 15.4 incher from dell has a wxga? This design decision is really blowing my mind... I just keep expecting them to increase the number of options, but it keeps not happening.

They only just started to offer it not even two weeks ago on their main site. Give it some time...

As it stands, if I hear good news about the job opportunity coming my way, I will order one as it will fulfill MbWife's laptop requirements perfectly.

I've got a 1520 and am really happy with it. I started to have some regrets when I saw the new 1530 until I saw the screen options. That is very disappointing. I don't believe I'd buy an XPS 1530 unless they worked out the screen resolution issue.
