MBP+Leopard+bootcamp+xp = what kind of page file?

Hi,

I am running XP on a new MBP with 4 gigs of RAM (bootcamp). What would you suggest I do with the pagefile settings, or any other settings for that matter, to speed up XP operation.

Thanks,

bob

With windows, remove it half the time

In my experience, windows is very poor at handling memory, and tends to use the page file in favor of the actual physical memory, even if you have plenty available. Check to see if this is happening in your case, if it is try disabling it. I remember you use some software that sounded extremely memory intensive though, so your experience may vary.

Thanks for the advice Seablade. I will turn the page file off for a while and see how that goes.

Remove it or keep it a small size...generally half of your RAM is the right size for virtual memory. A quarter should be fine too. For the most part just keep adjusting it to find the best settings if it's really noticeable to you.
