Formatting TP R60 HDD ?

Thread Starter
I have a TP R61i or model R60 that boots to user account.
I'd like to be able to make changes in the control panel but don't know the Admin password.
I'd actually like to format the HDD and reinstall a new O/s
Does anyone know how to either:
1: Retreive a windows XP admin password
or
2: Format the HDD to install XP Pro

I have a bootable XP Pro disk but The newer TP's have something going on with the HDD controller that won't allow the Software to recognize the HDD.

Thanks for any help in advance.

My memory is failing at my ripe old age but I do recall someone telling me that with Lenovo and their SATA configuration, you can format using Win 98, then upgrade to XP.

Anyone else familiar with this?

I'm having a problem in that my system is set up to log into windows with a User acct.
I don't know the Admin password and the permissions are set to not allow some dowoads or insstallation of software.
I tried to install the Intal Matrix Storage Manager driver and it says," Access Denied"

Very frustrating.
