Need Help Choosing A Notebook

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm looking for a laptop on a small (for a gaming notebook) budget that can play some of the newest games on decent settings. I also live in Australia, which doesn't help. Now I don't expect to be able to play Crysis on full settings but I want to be able to play some things.

I've worked out that I can get a Dell Inspiron 1520 pimped out to:

-Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor T7300 (2GHz, 4MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB)
-NVIDIA® GeForceTM Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory
-2GB RAM

For just over $1500 AU. Ok I know it might not sound good to you but it seems heaps better than anything else I've seen for that price.

Alternitively I can get an XPS M1530 with the same specs for about an extra hundred or a bit more. Would the XPS perform any better? Doesn't seem worth it for the extra money. I could probably even get another .2Ghz on the Inspiron for that.

So what do you guys think? Any other ideas/advice?

Thanks, I'm kind of new to the computer gaming scene.

Chances are the 1520 will be just about the same as the M1530.. save your self the money or add something nice to the 1520

I've worked on both the 1520 and the 1530....the 1530 is just faster than the 1520, also it's tweaked for performance and more of a road warrior. There wouldnt be much of a difference while playing games but i would go for the XPS...

Just letting you know winkryb, we usually ban for less, esp when people spam the forums with nonsense. We don't think having 25 posts is that much of inconvenience if people are serious about buying/selling on a forum. It helps weed out spammers and resellers. Enjoy your time on the forums but please take this into consideration.
