Hello, I own a Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505, Windows Media Edition notebook. My laptop has been performing rather slowly, even after having formatted the disk on two occasions. After re-formatting, the laptop performs well for approximately a month and a half or maybe two months, but then gradually starts to get slower and slower. I recently ran the 32 bit diagnostics and got the following error:

Error Code 0148
MSG Error Code 2000-0148
MSG Unit 0:1DE Error:
Status 3E No additional sense information
I have just gone off my warranty and am wondering what this error means and what steps I should take. If I have to replace the hard drive, how much do new hard drives generally cost and how elaborate is the process for installing them into the lap top? Any assistance is appreciated, thank you.
