Bloatware in Sony Vaio VGN-TZ21WN

Wow,

Very informative forum.

I recently bought a TZ21. A beautiful piece of machinery. Very light and lots of battery power.

I would like some input from you guys.

I use the laptop for using MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, POwerpoint and of course Internet Explorer. Apart from MS Office 2007 I do not have anything else installed on my Laptop.

I feel that the laptop is quite slow to respond. I know I am running Vista BUsiness on it plus it runs the ULV processor, but I still feel that there might be some bloatware pre-installed on the Lappie which is hampering the performance.

Could you suggest how I could get about eliminating this bottleneck on my TZ21?

Thanks.

I feel you vinsup i just recently bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ260E and it came with so much bloatware it wasnt even funny. Lappy came with Windows Vista Home Premium. I tried installing Ultimate Edition 64bit and that was a no go. tried to restore the laptop and they said because of me installing another operating system that my recovery partition was wiped and was forced to buy the recovery dvd's for it. DVD's cost me $38.91 w/ shipping. The best way to get rid of the bloatware is making sure you have the OS CD/DVD. Format the lappy and download the drivers from the sony support site. Thats what i did to my vaio and all my bloatware is gone. Hope this helps.

Yea they can come with preinstalled with bloatware like anti virus and such which can slow things down while it scans for threats. Just reinstall Windows and you shoulf be good to go

Are u running XP or Vista and how much RAM do you ahve?

Thanks guys.

I am running VISTA and the RAM is 2 gigs which comes standard with these laptops. I was hoping that I could get rid of the bloatware without having to format the hard drive.

If its brand new and u havent played with it yet, a reformat is the est idea, but if youve already got stuff on there, well I guess its up 2 u
