I've been having overheating problems and I was wondering how well cooling stands and the like work. Any recommendations of good products would be appreciated.

What computer do you have (Specs) where do you use it (Desk, couch, bed, etc) When was the last time you cleaned it out?

It is a Mac Book Pro, I use it on a desk and was using it to play games, and there has already been hardware damage. I'm getting it repaired now and I want to get a cooling stand for when I get it back.
