Hey guys, I can't seem to run any benchmarks on my notebook because I keep getting a notice that my resolution is not set on the optimal resolution 1280x800 even though it is. What should I do?

I have an I8600 with Pentium M 1.4 CPU, 256MB RAM, 60 GigsHG, 32 MB Nvidia Geforce FX Go 5200...

Trying to run 3dmark2001 and aquamark. I know that it's not going to score high but I want to try it anyway to see how it runs.

I actually got to run aquamark for a little bit, the demo but stopped it because it make crackling noises.

BTW if I wanted to upgrade my GPU, does it have to Nvidia or can I put in an ATI instead?

I'm upgrading my ram next.

eum sorry but i can't help u much there.... I don't think the board is going to do that bad as 3d mark 01's about the right one u should use for ur laptop and Aquamark's probably a bit hard on ur sys w/ the ps.

Option on upgrading GPU on elder systems are limited because BIOS need to be enabled to support them. In other words, u need to use a new bios if the graphic card isn't supported by ur laptop, plus new GPU generate more heat, so you may get urself a grill if u do plan to use the later graphic card.

I got 3dmark2001 to run by downgrading my resolution and you were right about aquamark being hard on my system

we've been comparing the 3dmark03 on our xps's/9100 only at a resolution of 1024 x 768, so don't feel left out. That's the standard test.
