700m

Hey guys,

I got like barely 30 processes and 2gigs of RAM and 1.8ghz processor. I used to have 1.25 gigs of RAM before upgrading by buying another 1 gig stick. I haven't really seen any performance increase. I thought I would. I notice more lag than anything. I can't watch a lot of Youtube videos without any choppiness. Is it cause there is no video card? Is there way I can allocate more of the memory which I dont think I need to video card memory? Yeah, it's just bothering me that I can't watch videos without lag.

I loved my 700m and w/ 2gb ram, never had any issues. I would try to upgrade your vid driver. There are some mod'd drivers but I cant remember where I got them from but check the chipset and look for an update

the chopiness on youtube isn't your video ram or your ram, it is your internet connection and/or the server. what is your network setup? perhaps increasing your buffering will help out, too.

No, I believe it's the ram or video ram. The video is usually already loaded/buffered. I guess iTunes is the culprit because of the amount of ram it eats up for the flow cover feature. I still don't think this should decrease my performance so much.
I can't seem to find any updated drivers. The one on Intel's site doesn't work for me for some reason. Any links? anyone?

I got a driver that installed properly from running windows update.

I run 1gb of RAM and have the 1.6ghz processor, and my 700m runs like a top.

I do have a 2.0ghz cpu im gonna be putting in it tomorrow though =)

A slow down can be caused by bad IDE drivers. If your hard drive is running is not running at Ultra DMA Mode 5, it can slow your system down considerably.

And how do I check if I am in Ultra DMA Mode 5?
