Dell i710m problem

Hey everyone,
I have a problem with my old i710m. Once I log into windows, the power turns off by itself and the computer shuts down after the windows intro melody. I think there is something wrong with the power source never charges when I plug it into the AC.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Is there anything I can do?

sounds like a corrupted boot sector. Have you tried to clean install windows again? when you plug in the ac charger, are you getting the battery charging light? If not, that doesn't mean that it is not charged, but could mean that it is charged. If it is a bad power supply, then you could buy another powersupply (i.e. the powercord) to check it out or get a voltmeter to see if you are getting any juice through the thing.

after you press the power button and get the bios flash screen, press F8 and select boot in safe mode to see if it will boot in safe mode without crashing. something tells me it is software not hardware.
