When to buy the m1530?

When will the price of the m1530 come down?

I want it, but it costs a lot (for me at least)

After christmas maybe? Or am I better off getting something else?
I do live in canada so none of those amazing $400 off Inspiron/vostro coupons work...

wait for the outlet. but you can get a 1520

Is there even a canadian outlet?

If I type in dell.ca/outlet it takes me to the US one.

I don't have coupons available where I live as well and Dell here quite often gives the best price when a new model is first released.......or that was the case with the M1730,which is now more expensive now, than when I bought it in sept.

With the M1530,personally,I would wait until the led screen is available, just because I'd like to try one and I'm presuming that the lid will be thinner on the led screened version, the non-led screen one available now seems a bit thick and not in keeping with general look of the notebook IMO

What upgrades would you say are worth it for gaming?

The GPU i know but i don't know if a better CPU and faster HDD would be worth it.

Could an 8600m GT and a core2 t5250 run games well?

I know the GPU is pretty good but what about the CPU??
I was wondering about the power of the 5250 myself...when is the last day we can order with overnight shipping to get this thing by xmas? I know dell is usually VERY fast...I bet we still have time.

So what do you think a 1530 completely stock could handle game wise?
(8400 gs, t5250)

Could It do COD 4 on medium?

And any idea how good the t5250 is?
COD4 it can do on minimum, because my M1330 with it's 8400M GS can play COD4 on minimum.

HOWEVER, if you're going to get an M1530, why are you bothering with an 8400? Since you are price sensitive, I recommend that you either save up for an upgrade to an 8600M (HUGE performance upgrade), or get a Vostro instead.

Thanks, Ill get the 8600 gt for sure.

What about the t5250?

Is it bad/good do i need to upgrade it?
It's the lowest end processor (1.5Ghz). Definitely upgrade it to at least a 1.8Ghz or 2.0Ghz processor.

If money is tight and you can't afford the upgrade, then it is better to go with a Vostro laptop with nice upgrades than to get an M1530 with mediocre parts.

OK...

I think i'll wait for a price drop.
I'm waiting for a screen with more resolution. 1530 is pointless you might as well go small and get the 1330 same resolution, unless you absolutely need the 8600 for gaming.

The new screens are coming after christmas.

Also, the 1330 is a lot more expensive.

lol

I'd only want to live there until it got delivered...

I'd be too afraid of hurting myself and having to actually pay to get fixed!

Canada = free healthcare!! (Not really "free" i guess but still)
