dell latitude D830 internal mic does not work

I have a Dell Latitude D830 with Windows XP. Internal mic for the notebook does not work anymore. It has been only (4) that use this notebook. It was working when first get it. I no long errecord sound by using Windows sound recorder.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the internal Mic is set as your recording source in volume control. It's possible someone has changed it. Have you tried using an external mic at all? THe Internal one is disabled when you plug in an external, or if the jack has been damaged.
