PS3 capabilities - Page 2

uh yup, the hardest part of the process is switching the drive caddy to the new drive, with a proper screw driver can be done in minutes, the format can take some time to complete though...... and there are a few homemade desktop hdd and multi-drive hacks via switches and via raid setups for some serious space!

Right now I have all my movies on a 60gig that I just plug into the USB port but if I drop a larger drive in that would save me a lot of headaches. Thanks Arch.

Use partition magic and create a couple partitions, it works perfect.

First off NTFS = M$ HAHAHA
Second FAT and FAT32 connote different restrictions.... please be more specific
Second, there might be other options??....ext2? ext3? other?
FAT32 is the only option. XMB does not read NTFS, Ext2, Ext3, or HTFS.

Does anyone know when i try to stream a Divx movie from my PC to the PS3 it always stops at the 1 HR mark. Is there anything to do to fix this? I have the 80 GB model updated to the newest firmware.

Corrupt file?
definitely not corrupt since it plays the first hour then stops...plus i can watch it on my computer
post #32 of 36
I have the same problem with a file I made it will play fine to a certain point and then it stops and gives me a file corrupt error. So it will play up to the point that the file is broken.
but i'm not getting a file corrupt error on the ps3...it just stops...i can watch the entire movie on my computer though with no issue.
Try copying it to the PS3 HD and see what it says about the file. Are you sure you computer is not going to sleep when you are trying to stream the movie?
yes i'm sure since the computer is like 4 feet from the ps3

Have you tried to copy the file to the PS3 yet?
