refurbed d600...

hey guys, very quick question. a guy at my church owns a computer shop, and he gets refurbished laptops in every once in a while that he sells for what i think is a reasonable price.. Anyway, he said he's getting a d600, and he'll sell it for $450... i know this is an old computer, but i wonder what "refurbished" really means?... are there different levels? i mean, i'm sure it means formatting the HD, and re-installing windows and stuff like that... but i've read about hardware stuff on the d600's (that bluetooth deal, for one)... and i wonder if the "refurbishing" would include any and all hardware checks and fixes and stuff like that... in the offchance that it is in perfect condition (ie, everything works like its supposed to, like it was brand new), is 450 a good price? basically, the only thing i'll be using it for is for the internet.. and i won't use it much for that... i've got a desktop at work, but here pretty soon, i'll be getting another one that won't connect to the internet easily.. so i want a laptop to fool around on in my down time....

anyway, what kind of specs should i look for? like i said, i'll pretty much only use it for internet and music... so i don't need any high tech gaming laptop with a 62,000 inch wraparound screen like an Imax! (althought it would be nice..lol)

$450 is a bit steep, you could snag a D600 for $250 on eBay. Geeks.com sells them for $320. That laptop he's wanting you to buy better be like a brand freaking new laptop with no cosmetic blemishes on it and it better work like it's new too.

Or it has to be loaded to the teeth for its time like 2Ghz 2GB of ram 100GB harddrive and the works. This kind of pricing is normal if not good for small shops like the one you describe. You can do a lot better online but a model as old as the D600 you may just want to look at something newer.
