What about the free product?
If you are a Windows Vista or Windows XP user and decide to join and participate in both programs, we will send you a free Microsoft product when you participate in the program. Limit one gift per person. This offer is non-transferable. This offer expires on 12/31/07, while supplies last, and is not redeemable for cash. Taxes, if any, are your sole responsibility. The current list of products to choose from are:
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit DVD)
Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007
Microsoft Money Plus Premium
Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium 2008
Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008

How do I enroll in the Program?
When you decide to participate, you will:
Read and agree to the Agreement for joining the Windows Feedback Program.
Enter your personal information.
Complete a 15-minute survey that helps us to understand your user preferences and main interests. This is important for us because it allows us to target specific research activities to the right audience. For example, if you never play games on your computer, we would not invite you to participate in a survey about games. Completion of the survey is required for your registration to be complete.
Download and install the software on your Windows Vista or Windows XP computer if you are joining the automated feedback program.

I went through the process, it doesn't really take 15 mins. I installed the software and I can't tell it's there.. So far so good, now I just wait 3 months.

edit: Free Software promotion has ended

Have fun with that one guys. You're letting them in your computer for what 100 bucks worth of software? Not a bright idea if you ask me.

Hell why not, I signed up.

Re: darq - I will be quite honest with you buddy, if Microsoft really wants to sit and watch me browse porn for 50 hours a week that's their problem. It'll save me the hassle and expense of having to buy another license for Vista Ultimate. Which mind you are still selling for over $300 a copy for the retail version...

Oh yeah, I laughed my ass off once already... their software I installed, started up and crashed within two minutes of running... >.<

That's why they will be installed onto the browser box that only gets used by people visiting who want on the web and are too afraid of anything non M$

I figure after I get my copy (granted they follow through) I will be due for a full reinstall anyway, so no harm. I have a feeling they'll end up telling a lot of people that supplies didn't last...

Amazon shows the Office Ultimate as MSRP of $679.99, their price $484.00

Did you guys/gals that enrolled get your emails instantly? It took my gmail over an hour last night to get the email.
No e-mail yet, but I dont know what to do after u download and install, is that it??
Thought about it and I don't need either one enough to let MS have even deeper hooks into my system.

OpenOffice and Kubuntu are what I use day in and day out anyways.

When you finished the survey it will ask for your mailing address, install the software it will verify the email you used the first time and thats it. It automatically starts up with each login and is very unintrusive.

Yeah I didn't know which would get the best. Plus I like the OT people better, but wherever you guys think will be best.

I've been playing COD4 and crysis with it running can't tell a difference in performance.
