I joined this awhile ago (never pass up on an opportunity to get another Vista license) and suffice to say I did not have a pleasant experience. I don't know if I just had a bad install but it slowed the machine down to a crawl in less than 24 hours, broke the Windows installer and I had to System Restore to get rid of it and get the machine back to normal, and when that didn't work, I uninstalled it, so, I already have a Vista Ultimate license as well as 2 Vista Home Permium licenses, I DON'T want to go thur 3 months of THAT HELL just to get another Vista License

Your mileage may vary...and you may not have the same problems like I did so, GOOD LUCK

Yup. It links you to the survey, you have to do the survey first then you'll be able to download the software.. You have to check off both when you first start.

Okie dokie, I just clicked the link the email gave me and it went straight to the download page. So once you get the survey done, you can download it whenever. But hurry, supplies are limited...

It gives you a link after you complete the survey, so you could always just copy the link location and email it to yourself. When you install the program on your PC, it asks for your sign up Email addy, so it can bind the time it logs on your system to the right account. But thats it... its installed and unobtrusive. They do say they will send out surveys on occasion to fill out though, so keep that in mind that they are a requirement for you to fulfill.

So after the survey, and downloading and installing the software, your done except they send u an e-mail??

Cause their are no steps for after u download and install the software, not even a next button or anything.

They now own your soul FF.

I like my privacy. As much as one can have, so letting MS in even more then they already are is a NONO in my book.

M$ can do anything they want. They update windows without you even knowing and even when you have automatic updates off.

Quit being a wussy and get a free copy.

How about no. That and you can block MS quite easy if you know how to setup a firewall.

I went ahead and signed up for it. Put it on my virtual machine. All they'll see me doing with it is reading webcomics and news sites, and I get a free upgrade from VB64 to VU64. I already have a copy of Office Enterprise 2007 from my school, which has everything in it that Ultimate does. I have VB32, VB64, VHP32. Don't have Ultimate. Don't care about Money, Student, Encarta, or Streets & Trips 2008 (as I already have a copy of 2007).

Not going to do anything that involves passwords & account names, banking, etc.

Maybe I'll look for porn or something every week or two just to make it interesting.

Hells yes, I love this idea. Hmm to wipe my lappy and just put on Vista Ultimate.... hmmm

Although I must say, I wouldn't do this on a machine that I do financial business on.
BTW do you get an actual copy of a Vista Ultimate DVD if you do this? or just a download?

Microsoft expects us to trust them so you'd think they'd return the favor and provide a link to a Vista Ultimate ISO and Product Key at the start of participation in this program.

also, I remember filling out a questionnaire at Microsoft a few years ago for a free 16MB (WOW!) thumb drive and after months of waiting, you received this: "Sorry, due to an unexpectedly huge response to this offer, supplies have run out. Thanks for participating and have a nice day!"

Hmmmmm. while supplies last huh. there could only be 10 copies slated for this program and microsoft gets all that data and hardly has to give anything back [wouldn't surprise me]
only way the smart people would go for this is if the software was sent FIRST!

so, I wouldn't count on getting anything form MS at the end of this program, if I were you, just something to consider NO WHERE does it say that you are Guaranteed ANYTHING form MS
